Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said John as before defends the force and Injury when &c. And Saith that
he is Not Guilty of the Premisses in the declaration Mentioned in Manner and form as the afd.
Rachell Above Against him hath Complained and of this he puts himself upon the Country &c
And the afd. Rachell in Like Manner
        Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Cause to Come before
his Lordships Justices at the next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August
then next following twelve &c. by Whom &c. and who neither &c. to Recognize &c. because as well and So forth and the
Same day is Given to the Parties afd. &c    Att which day here Came as well the afd. Rachell Daugherty as
the afd. John Williams by their Attorneys afd. And theereupon Sheriff to witt Eph. Wilson Ret. the afd. Writt
of Veniry facias and all things Served and Executed and the Jurors of that Jury thereof Impannelled being
Called Some of them to witt Levin Dashiell, Jarvis Ballard, Wm. Polk, Thomas Jones, John Anderson, Nehemiah
Bozman, Wm. Gray, Isaiah Tilman, Wm. Smith, Michael Dorman, & John Parker, Came and Were Sworn upon
that Jury and because One of the Jurors of that Same Jury did not Appear therefore an Other of the Standers
by, by the Sheriff of the County afd. hereunto Elected and at the Request of the afd. Rachell Daugherty and
by the Command of the afd. Justices is newly put in to witt William Turpin being Called Likewise Came
who to Say the truth of the premisses afd. together with the other Jurors afd. before Impannelled and Sworn
being Elected tryed and Sworn upon their Oath Say that the afd. John Williams is Guilty of the premisses
in the declaration mentioned in Manner and form as the afd. Rachell Above Against him hath Complained
And Assess the damages of the Said Rachell by Occasion of the Premisses beyond her Costs and Charges by
her About her Suit in that part Apposed to One pound ten Shillings Curt Money and for those Costs and Charges
to One pound of tobaco       Therefore it is Considered that the afd. Rachell Daugherty Recover Against
the afd. John Williams her Damages afd. by the Jurors afd. in form afd. Assessed as also:
                               Pound of tobacco for her Costs and Charges afd. to the Same Rachell by the Court
here of her Assent of Increase Adjudged which Certain Damages in the Whole Amount to One pound
ten Shillings Curt Money and                                                                   Pounds of tobacco and the
afd. Rachell in Mercy &c

WH    Smith Horsey

@    Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take Cornelius Ward
SW    Cornelius Ward and    Late of Somerset County Planter and Cornelius Ward Jur Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise
LD    Cornelius Ward Jur.    Called we the Subscribers if they Should be found in Your Bailywick and them Should Safe keep so
that he might have their bodys before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes
Ann Town the third Tuesday of June Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One to Answer unto
Smith Horsey of A plea that they Render him One hundred and four pounds Sixteen Shillings Curt Money of
Maryland which to him they Owe and Unjustly detain and So forth    And the Same day is Given to the afd. Smith
here &c       Att which day here Came the afd. Smith Horsey by Wm. Hayward his Attorney and the Sheriff to witt
John Dennis Gent now here Returned that he had taken the afd. Cornelius Ward Ser & Cornelius Ward Jur whose
bodys here at this day he had Ready to Answer the afd. Smith Horsey of the afd. plea as to him it was Commanded
   Whereupon the Said Smith Horsey Cornelius Ward & Cornelius Ward Jur puts in their place Samuel Wilson
Gent Attorney at Law Against the afd. Smith Horsey of the afd. plea
           And thereupon at the prayer of the parties afd. day is to them now here Given untill
next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following in the State
that now Saveing to the Parties afd. &c.    Att which day here Came the parties afd. by their Attorneys
afd. And hereupon the Said Smith Horsey Declared Against the afd. Cornelius & Cornelius in the plea afd. in
form following    Somerset fst Cornelius Ward Late of Somerset County Planter and Cornelius Ward Jr.
Late of Somerset County Planter Otherwise Called We the Subscribers were Summoned to Answer unto
Smith Horsey of A plea that they Render him One hundred and four pounds and Sixteen Shillings
Current Money of Maryland which to him they Owe and Unjustly detain and So forth
