June Court 1762 148 Second Bounder of his Land and further Saith not Levin Dashiell The Red Oak Above mentioned Stoops to the Southwards and Stands on the East Side of Tiaskin near the head thereof About 80 Yards from the Branch Roger Nicholson of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Aged About 36 years being Sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth as followeth that about nine or ten Years Ago old Robert Collier and Cannon Winright told this deponant that the Oak we are now at (the Same as that in the two depositions above) was a bounder of Henry Dashiells Land And further Saith not Roger Nicholson Levin Dashiell of Somerset County of the Province of Maryland Aged as afd. being Sworn on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God deposeth as followeth that About Twenty Years Ago this deponant was brought by Henry Dashiell Senr. with Severall Others in Company and Shewed them the first bounder of his Land it being a dead fallen White Oak which Lay in this place or near and further Saith not Levin Dashiell John Hopkins Aged About 50 Years being Sworn on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God deposeth as followeth that his father and Henry Dashiell had Shewed him a fallen tree which they both told him had been marked in the Room of the first Bounder of the Said Henry Dashiells's Land and the Second bounder of John Hopkins's Land which tree this Deponant Saith Lay at or near the place where we now are and further Saith not John Hopkins Jesse Dashiell of Somerset County in the province of Maryland Aged About forty Years being Sworn on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God deposeth as followeth that about Twenty Years ago Henry Dashiell Shewed him a fallen tree which lay at or near the place where we now are and told him it was the first bounder of his Land and further Siath not Jesse Dashiell The tree mentioned in the three Last Depositions is quite Gone and there is now placed where it Stood (as Shewed us by these Deponants) a Cedar post marked with Sixteen Notches on the West bank of a Branch Called Woolf trap Branch and Sometimes Deep Branch Jesse Dashiell afd. being Sworn on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God deposeth as followeth that About thirty Years ago his father Shewed him a White Oak the Stump of Which we are now at which he told him was the first bounder of John Hopkins Land and further Saith not Jesse Dashiell The Stump above mentioned Stands near the Mouth of a Gutt Issuing our of Tipquin Creek which Gutt divides the land of John Hopkins from that of Jesse Dashiell
of a tract of Land Called Wool Hope or Any other Lands on which the bounds of the afd. Land may depend We therefore Require you or any three or two of You at Some time and place as to You or Any three or two of You it Shall Seem Convenient You meet on the afd. Land Called Woolhope or Any other Lands on which the bounds of the afd. Land may depend You first haveing taken Your Oaths on the holy Evangels of Almighty God and there Cause to Come before you or Any three or two of you all Such Evidences as Shall be to you or Any three or two of you Nominated by the Said Complainant or deft. & that you or Any three or two of You Examine them upon their Corporall Oaths to be by you or Any three or two of you Administred on the holy Evangels of Almighty God in the Presence of the Complainant or deft. if Any touching the truth or Remembrance of their knowledge or Any thing that may Relate to the Cause afd. and that Reduceing the Severall depositions into Writing You Send the Same with this our Commission under Your or Any three or two of Your hands and Seals to us to our County Court of Somerset with all Convenient Speed Witness Isaac Handy Esqr. one of our Justices of our Said Court the 27th day of Novr. Anno DOm. 1759 And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June being the fifteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. 1762 before the Justices thereof Came the Gent Nominated in the within Commission and Returned the Same Endorsed in Manner following with the Severall Depositions thereto Annexed Aprill the 22d: 1760 Then Came the within Named Geo: Gale and George Dashiell Senr. & was Qualified before me the Subscriber to Execute the within Commission as the Law directs before Ephm.
