peace of God and the Said Lord Propry then and there being an Assault did make and him the Said Thomas then &
there did beat wound and Ill treat So that of his Life it was much dispaired and other harms to him the Said
Thomas And Against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is his good Rule and
Government and So forth         Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take
the Said John Talbot if &c. to Answer &c. And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the
third Tuesday of June being the fifteenth day of the Same month Anno Dom. 1762 before the Justices thereof Came
the afd. John Talbot According to a Certain Recognizance by him and his Security in that part before Acknowledged and
had a hearing of the Indictment afd. Saith that he is not thereof Guilty and puts himself upon the Country and
George Hayward Gent his Lordships Attorney who for his Said Lordship in this part prosecuteth Likewise &c
      Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that Immediately he Should Cause to Come
before his Lordships Justices Twelve &c. by whom &c. And who neither &c. to Recognize &c. because as well &c.
                                                    Came as well
        And Afterwards in the Same Court ^ the afd. George Hayward his Lordships Attorney who for his Said
Lordship in this part prosecuteth as the afd. John Talbot by William Hayward his Attorney and the Sheriff to witt
Ephraim Wilson Returned the afd. Writt of Veniry facias in all things Served and Executed and the Jurors of that
Jury thereof Impannelled being Called to witt William Skervin, Revell Horsey, David Wilson, Jarvis Ballard
Ezekiell Hall, Aaron Starling, John Evans Ballard Bozman, Elias White, John Anderson, William Waller and

William Pollk Came who being Elected tryed and Sworn upon their Oath Say that the afd. John Talbot is ^ Guilty
of the premisses in the Indictment mentioned above upon him Imposed in Manner and form as by the afd. John
above by pleading hath Alledged    Therefore it is Considered that the afd. John Talbot of and from the Indmt
afd. be discharged and goe thereof without day &c

The Same    Somerset to witt The Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is for the body of Somerset
@    County upon their Oath present that William Ralph Late of Stepney Parish in the County afd. planter on the fifth
Wm. Ralph    day of Aprill in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred Sixty and two with force and Arms at the parish afd.
in the County afd. in and upon a Certain William Records in the peace of God and the Said Lord Propry then and there being
an Assault did Make and him the Said William then and there did beat wound and Evilly treat So that of his Life it
was Much dispaired and other harms to him the Said William then and there did to the Great Damage of the Said
William And Against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule &
                                                                                                                                Immediately
Government and So forth       Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that ^ he Should take the
Said William Ralph if &c. to Answer &c.    And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the
third Tuesday of June being the fifteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. 1762 before the Justices thereof Came
the afd. William Ralph in his proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd. Saith that he will not Contend with his
Lordship but for the Saveing Costs Labour and Expences about the premisses Submits himself at fine with his Said Lordship
and put himself upon favour of the Court &c    Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen and by the Court
fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. William Ralph for the offence afd. in the Indictment
afd. Specified be taken which Said William Ralph present here in Court as afd. is fined the Sum of five Shillings Curt
Money which he paid here in Court to the Sheriff for the use of his Lordship &c.

James Daugherty    Somerset fst Frederick Absolute Lord and Propry of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord
Commission and    Baron of Baltemore &c. To Sampson Wheatly, William Coulbourn, Isaac Coulbourn and Josephas
   Affidavits    Bell of Somerset County Gent Greeting know ye that we have Appointed you or Any three or two of you to
be our Commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain James Daugherty of Somerset County in Relation to the
Bounds of a tract of Land Called Usk or Any other Lands on which the Bounds of the afd. Land may depend we therefore
Require you or Any three or two of you at Some time and place as to You or Any three or two of You Shall Seem Convenient
you meet on the afd. Land Called Usk or Any other Land on which the bounds of the afd. Land may depend You first
haveing taken Your Oaths on the holy Evangels of Almighty God and there Cause to Come before you or Any three or
