(135) Somerset fst Att A Court of his Lordship the Right Honrble Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June being the fifteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two by his Said Lordships Justices the peace in the Same County to keep Assigned of Whom were present
Proclamation being Made the Sheriff of Somerset County Returned a Pannell of Grand Jurors to
William Paul Came hereinto Court in his Proper person and prays that for as much as he is Antient and
faithfully She Shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly Every where willingly she Shall doe And in all things as a good and faithfull Apprentice she Shall demean herself towards her Said Master and all his during the term afd. In Consideration of Which Service the Said William Shaw present here in Court in his Proper Person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in Manner and form following that is to Say that he the Said William Shaw Shall and will during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice a New Suit of Cloaths of Country Make Over and Above her Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise find and provide for his Said Apprentice Meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the term afd. Whereupon the Said William Shaw with William Giles and George Bennit of Somerset County Planters his Securitys all present here in Court in their Proper Persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the afd. Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of the Said Jemimah Read her heirs and Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen that the Said William Shaw do not during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice to Knit Sew and Spin and Read Well in the Bible and at the Expiration of her Servitude do not Give her a new Suit of Cloaths of Country Make Over and above her Common wearing Cloaths and do not Likewise find and provide for his Said Apprentice Meat drink Washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the term afd. &c |
