Somerset fst Att A Court of his Lordship the Right Honrble Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the
Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday
of June being the fifteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two
by his Said Lordships Justices the peace in the Same County to keep Assigned of Whom were present

The Worshipsfull       Sampson Wheatly    Ephraim King        His Lordships

      Eph: Wilson Shef.    Saml. Adams
   Thos. Hayward Jr Ck
Whereupon the Court being Called Sat as above proceeded to Business in Manner following Vizt

      Proclamation being Made the Sheriff of Somerset County Returned a Pannell of Grand Jurors to
Inquire for his Lordship &c. to witt William Miles, Thomas Humphris, Daniel Joones, Thomas Fletcher, Abraham
Outen, Joseph Weatherly, Charles Williams, John Langsdale, William Giles Isaac Costen, Elijah Coulbourn
Jacob Adams, Joshua Hoffington, William Miles, Jabez Pitt, Thomas Standford Zorobable Hall & Wm. Revell who
being Severally Called over by their Names do Appear as above and were Sworn and Charged and Sent out to Consider
Soon after the Grand Jurors afd. So as afd. Impannelled Charged and Sworn Returned hereinto Court and being Again
Severaly Called Over by their Names Returned to the Court here the following Indictments Against William
Ralph, Ditto, John Talbot, Margaret Maddox, Randall Long, William Roach, Leah Sumners, Mary Noble,
Jonathan Cluff, Negro Peter, Edmond Fisher and John Crockett    Thereupon the Grand Jurors afd. are discharged and allowed
four hundred Pounds of Tobacco to be Levied Next Levey Court and that Against Randall Long, William Roach
Lean Sumners, Mary Noble and Jonathan Cluff So as afd. Indicted it is Ordered that Capias Issue Returnable to August Court
next &c

William Paul Came hereinto Court in his Proper person and prays that for as much as he is Antient and
Very Infirm And not Able to Labour he may be for the future tax free which is by the Court here unto him Granted &c

Jemimah Read    Jemimah Read an Orphan of her Own free Consent is bound out by the Court here an Apprentice
   Bound to    According to Act of Assembly in Such Case provided unto William Shaw of Somerset County untill
Wm. Shaw    She the Said Jemimah Read Should Arrive at the Age of Twenty One Sixteen Years the Said
Jemimah to Serve her Said Master the full term afd. during which term the Said Apprentice her Said Master well &
faithfully She Shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly Every where willingly she Shall doe
And in all things as a good and faithfull Apprentice she Shall demean herself towards her Said Master and all his
during the term afd.    In Consideration of Which Service the Said William Shaw present here in Court in his
Proper Person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in Manner and form
following that is to Say that he the Said William Shaw Shall and will during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice
the trade of to knitt Sew and Spin and to Read well in the Bible and at the Expiration of her Servitude Give her
a New Suit of Cloaths of Country Make Over and Above her Common wearing Cloaths and Likewise find and provide for
his Said Apprentice Meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear
during the term afd.       Whereupon the Said William Shaw with William Giles and George Bennit of Somerset
County Planters his Securitys all present here in Court in their Proper Persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted
unto the afd. William Shaw with Jemimah Read in Twenty Pounds Curt Money of Maryland on their bodies Goods or
Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of the Said Jemimah Read her heirs and Assigns to be
made and Levied if it happen that the Said William Shaw do not during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice
to Knit Sew and Spin and Read Well in the Bible and at the Expiration of her Servitude do not Give her a new
Suit of Cloaths of Country Make Over and above her Common wearing Cloaths and do not Likewise find and
provide for his Said Apprentice Meat drink Washing Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice
to have and wear during the term afd. &c
