Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June then next following and he hath it and the Same day is
Given to the af^d. Mary here also &^c
        Att which day here Came as well the af^d. Mary Whittingham as the af^d. John Cox by their
Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said John Prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next
Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following and he hath
it and the Same day is Given to the af^d. Mary here also &^c
           Att which day here Came as well the af^d. Mary Whittingham as the af^d. John Cox by their
Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next
Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November then next following and he hath it
And the Same day is Given to the af^d. Mary here also &^c
           Att which day here Came as well the af^d. Mary Whittingham as the af^d. John Cox
by their Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here
untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next following
and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the af^d. Mary here also &^c
           Att which day here Came as well the af^d. Mary Whittingham as the af^d. John Cox by
their Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the Said John as before defends the force and Injury when &^c
And Saith that he Cannot deny the Action af^d. of the af^d. Mary Whittingham nor but that he did Assume
upon himself in Manner and form as the af^d. Mary Above Against him hath Complained and as to the
Damage of the Same Mary by him by Occasion of the Premisses in that part Sustained the Same
John Saith and Acknowledgeth that the af^d. Mary hath Sustained Damages by Occasion of the
Premisses beyond her Costs and Charges by her about her Suit in that part Apposed to Twelve pounds
Cur^t Money and not More and because the af^d. Mary denys not this but the Same Allegation Grants
to be true prays Judgment for those damages above Acknowledged together with his Costs and Charges af^d.
to him to be Adjudged &^c.    Therefore by Consent of the Parties af^d. it is Considered that the af^d.
Mary Recover Against the af^d. John her Damages af^d. to the af^d. Twelve pounds Cur^t Money by the
816    Same John in form af^d. Acknowledged as also:                                               Pounds of Tobacco
for his Costs and Charges af^d. to the Same Mary at her Request by the Court now here of the Assent of
the parties af^d. Adjudged which Certain Damages in the Whole Amount to Twelve pounds Cur^tMoney
And                                                         Pounds of Tobacco and the af^d. John in Mercy &^c

@    Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take John

SW    John Owens    Owens Late of Somerset County Planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him Should Safe

keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom. One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One to
Answer unto William Geddes of A plea of trespass upon the Case &^c. And the Same day is Given to the af^d.
W^m. Geddes here &^c.    Att which day here Came the af^d. W^m. Geddes by George Hayward his Attorney and the
Sheriff to witt John Dennis Gen^t now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. John Owens whose body
here at this day he had Ready to Answer the af^d. W^m. Geddes of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
           Whereupon the Said John Owens at the prayer of the af^d. William Geddes is Adjudged to
Give Special Bail to the Action af^d. Thereupon a Certain Thomas Holbrook of Somerset County Gen^t
Present herein Court in his Proper Person undertook for the Said John Owens And Assumed upon himself
that if it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should be Redred for the Said William Geddes
Against the af^d. John Owens or that he the Said John Owens Should be therein Convict that then he the
Said John Owens Should pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. W^m. Geddes the Judgment of the Court thereupon
or Render his body in Execution of Such Judgment to the prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction
thereof or that he the Said Thomas Holbrook will do the Same for him &^c
