her Attorney Complains that Whereas the Said John on the         day of         in the Year of our Lord One
thousand Seven hundred Sixty and         at the County afd. In Consideration that the Said Mary at the Special Instance
and Request of the Said John to have Occupy Possess and Enjoy a Certain Lott and house thereon in Princes Ann Town
in Somerset County undertook and to the Said Mary then and there faithfully Promise to Pay to her So much Money
as She the Said Mary had Reasonably Deserved to have from the Said John for the Same and She the Said Mary
Owns [?] that She Reasonably Deserves to have from the Said John for the Same the Sum of Twelve pounds Curt
Money of Maryland thereof the Said Afterwards to wit the Same day and Year afd. at the County afd. had notice
And Whereas also the Said John the day and Year afd. at the County afd. was Indebted unto the Said Mary in the
further Sum of Twelve pounds Curt Money for the use and Occupation of the houses and Lotts of the Said Mary in
Princes Ann Town in the County afd. for the Space of Eight Months which the Said John before that time at his
Instance and Request by the permission of the Said Mary had used and Occupied and So thereof Indebted being
in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and Year Last afd. at the County afd. upon himself did Assume
And to the Said Mary then and there Promised to pay the afd. Sum of Money Last mentioned when he Should
be thereto afterwards Required Nevertheless the Said John his Several promises and Assumptions afd. in
form afd. Made not Regarding the afd. Sums of Money unto the afd. Mary he hath not paid but the Same to her
to pay hath Refused and Still doth Refuse altho the Same to do afterwards to wit the day and Year afd.
at the County afd. and often Since by the Said Mary Required to the Damage of the Said Mary thirty
Pounds Curt Money and thereof She brings Suit &c                           Pledges &c. J. Doe & R: Roe
And the afd. John Cox by his Attorney afd. Comes and defends the force and Injury when &c And prays Leave thereof
to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following
and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the afd. Mary here also &c
      Att which day here Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their Attorneys afd.
And hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at Princes
Ann Town the third Tuesday of November then next following and he hath it and the Same day is given to the
afd. Mary here also &c
        Att which day here Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their Attorneys
afd. and hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March then next following and he hath it and the Same day is given
to the afd. Mary here also &c
      Att which day Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their Attorneys
afd. And hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June then next following and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the
afd. Mary here also &c
      Att which day here Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their Attorneys afd.
And hereupon the said John as before prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court to be held
at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following and he hath it and the Same day is
Given to the afd. Mary here also &c.
        Att which day here Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their
Attorneys afd. And hereupon the Said John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next
Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November then next following and he hath it
and the Same day is Given to the afd. Mary here also &c
        Att which day here Came as well the afd. Mary Whittingham as the afd. John Cox by their
