                     August Court                 1761                        101
at the Parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Person to the Jurors unknown and did permit
the Same unknown person to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a Bastard Child on the body of her the Said Abigal
then and there to beget to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all Others in Such Case offending
Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his good Rule and Government And Against the form of the
Act of Assembly in Such Case Provided and So forth
        Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Abigal Tomlinson
if &c. to Answer &c.    And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August
being the Eighteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One before the Justices
thereof Came the afd. Abigal Tomlinson in her Proper Person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd. Saith that She
Cannot deny but that She is Guilty of the Premisses in the Indictment afd. above upon her Imposed in Manner and form
as by the Indictment afd. Above Against her Supposed but will not declare the father but is Willing to pay a double fine
for the Same &c.    Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is
Considered by the Court here that the afd. Abigal Tomlinson for the Premisses and Offence afd. Above Specified be taken
which Said Abigal Tomlinson present here in Court as afd. is fined the Sum of three pounds Curt Money which She paid to the Sheriff
of the County of Somerset for the use of the County &c.    Whereupon the Said Abigal Tomlinson is Ordered to Give Sery to
Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County from all Costs Charges & troubles that may Accrew by means of
the birth of the Bastard Child afd.    Thereupon a Certain Abraham Outen of Somerset County present here in Court in his proper
Person undertook for the Said Abigal Tomlinson and Acknowledged himself Indebted unto his Lordship in the Sum of thirty
pound Curt Money of Maryland of their bodys Goods and Chattles Lands and tenements to be made and Levied if it happen
that Abigal Tomlinson do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and
troubles that may Accrue by means of the birth of Bastard Child Lately Born of the Body of the afd. Abigal &c

The Same
@    Somerset to wit The Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honrble the Lord Propry that now is for the body of
Edward Bremigem    Somerset County upon their Oath Present that Edward Bremigem Late of Somerset Parish in the County
afd. Planter on the Seventeenth day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty at the
Parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Ann Fasque and a Bastard Child on the Body of
the Said Ann then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all Others in Such
Case Offending Against the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government and Contrary to
the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and Provided and So forth
           Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take the Said Edward Bremigem

        Whereupon the Said Edward Bremigem is ordered to Give Sery to Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset

County from all Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by means of the Birth of the Bastard Child afd. Thereupon ^ a Certain
with John Jones of Somerset County his Sery both present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves
Indebted unto the afd. his Lordship in the Sum of thirty Pounds Curt Money of their bodys Goods and Chattles Lands and
tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied if it happen
that the Said Edward Bremigem do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all
Costs Charges and troubles that may Accrew by means of the Birth of the Bastard Child afd. &c
