August Court 1761 100 Parish Church of the Said Parish in the County afd. and that the Said David and Mary then and there did Appear before the Said Minister Vestry and Church Wardens the Same David and Mary haveing on the day of in the Year Last mentioned Notice Given them so to do and the Same David and Mary being Acquainted then and there by the Said Minister Vestry and Church Wardens of the Suspicion that was had of their the Said David and Mary Incontenancy and Were Admonished then and there by the Same Minister Vestry and Church Wardens from Accompanying together and frequenting the Company of Each other the Said David and Mary haveing not Excused or Acquited themselves of the Grounds of Such Suspicion in Such Manner as the Said Minister Vestry and Church Wardens did Approve & the afd. that the afd. David of the Said Parish and COunty then being a Married Man did Afterwards (to wit) the day of in the Year of our Lord God One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty and One and at Divers other times as well before or Since at the Parish afd. in the County afd. within the Jurisdiction afd. Contrary to and after the Admonition Cohabit with and frequent the Company of the Said Mary Contrary to the Act of Assembly in that Case Lately made and Provided And Against the Peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government &c Whereupon the Same Attorney of the Same Lord Propry prays Advice of the Court here in the Premisses and that due process of Law in this part Against the afd. David May be made to Answer unto the Same Lord Propry of and upon the Premisses &c Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said David Cordery if &c. to Answer &c. And now to wit at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August being the Eighteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One before the Justices thereof Came the afd. David Cordery by Saml. Wilson his Attorney and had a hearing of the Information afd. Saith that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the Premisses in the Information afd. Above upon him Imposed in Manner and form as by the Information afd. Above Against him Supposed and is Willing to Pay his fine for the Same &c Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. David Cordery for the Premisses and Offence afd. in the Information afd. as afd. is fined for the Premisses and Offence afd. the Sum of three Pound Curt Money of Maryland which he paid here in Court to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c
August in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty One Before Isaac Handy Esqr. and others his Associates the Said Lord Propry his Justices of the Same County Court and for the Same Lord Propry doth Give the Same Justices here to understand and be Informed that the Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens of Stepney Parish in the County afd. the day of which was in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and at the Parish afd. in the County afd. and within the Jurisdiction of this Court Suspecting then and there of Lewdness and Incontinancy Mary Quinton Late of the Parish and County afd. Spinster and David Cordery then and there being a Married Man of the Parish and County afd. Planter did Cause Notice to be Given to the Said Mary and the Said David to Appear before them the Said Minister Vestrymen and Church Wardens on the day of in the Said Year Last Mentioned at a Vestry then held by them in the Parish Church of the Said Parish in the County and that the Said Mary and David then and there did Appear before the Said Minister Vestry and Church Wardens the Same Mary and David haveing on the day of in the Year Last Mentioned Notice Given them so to do and the Same Mary and David being Acquainted then and there by the Said Minister Vestry and Church Wardens of the Suspicion that was had of their the Said Mary and David Incontinancy and were Admonished then and there by the Same Minister Vestry and Church Wardens from Accompanying together and frequenting the Company of Each Other the Said Mary and David having not Excused or Acquitted themselves of the Grounds of Such Suspicion in Such Manner as the Said Minister Vestry |
