CHAP. 66.

CHAPTER 65.

Passed Feb. 1835

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to lay out and open
a Road in Cecil County, passed at December session, eigh-
teen hundred and thirty two, chapter seventy.

Preamble

WHEREAS, the commissioners, appointed by the act to
which this is a supplement, failed to make a return of their
proceedings, to the clerk of the county court, within the
year eighteen hundred and thirty-three; and whereas, the
act, to which this is a supplement, required the commis-
sioners of Cecil county to levy on the assessable property
of said county a certain sum of money, at their next annual
levy after the passage of the said act, to which this is a
supplement, for the purposes therein mentioned; and whereas,
the amount to be levied as aforesaid could not be ascer-
tained by the commissioners of said county, until the return
was made to the county clerk as aforesaid, and, as said re-
turn was not made during the year eighteen hundred and
thirty-three, — Therefore,

Levy-payment

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of Cecil county, be, and they are hereby
authorised and required, at their discretion, to levy on the
assessable property of said county, a sum of money not
exceeding the gum of four hundred dollars, and the same
shall be collected as other county charges are, and shall be
paid over to the person or persons entitled to receive the
same, in the same manner as though the levy had been
made within the time prescribed by the act to which this is
a supplement.

CHAPTER 66.

Passed Feb. 13, 1835

An act for the relief of Otho Savoy,

Preamble

WHEREAS, Otho Savoy, a free negro man, is in confine-
ment in jail in Frederick county, and has been there con-
fined for more than a year, lor the non-payment of a fine
of ten dollars, and fees, costs, and charges, due from him
on a criminal proceeding had against him, — Therefore,

Discharge directed

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Sheriff of Frederick county, be, and he is hereby
authorised and required, to discharge the said Otho Savoy
from his custody, if the said Otho Savoy be detained in his
