BANKS, . .. Supplement to the act of 1818, ch.

177, to facilitate the recovery of debts

due from the several, in this State,and

to compel said, to pay specie for their

notes or forfeit their charter,

Whenever any, fails to pay on de-

mand, &c. and is in condition to be

proceeded against, under original act,

the notes, &c. of said bank shall not

be taken in payment for its debts, &c.

unless where they shall. have been

held by the debtor at the time of

failure, &c.

If such bank appoints trustee, &c. the
Chancellor or county court, &c. may

appoint another in place of such trus-

tee, if recommended by a majority in

amt, of creditors of said bank,

And in all cases when a majority in

amount of creditors require, bond

shall be given by such trustee, &c.
