An act for the benefit of William Russell
|

|
|
WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly by
the petition of William Russell of Kent county, that a cer-
tain John Russell, deceased, a subject of the King of Great
Britain, but in the lifetime a resident of said county, became
the purchaser of certain real estate in the county aforesaid,
which was conveyed to, and up to his death held in trust by
Hayland B Pennington, Gideon Longfellow, and Abraham
Cole, for the use and benefit of said John, that he left the
card William Russell, as his only brother or next of kin,
who has become a citizen of the United States, and who
would have been the sole representative of said John, if he,
John had been a naturalized citizen of the United States
Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all the right, title, interest, or estate, which the State of
Maryland has or might make claim to, in all and every part
of the real estate, heretofore acquired by the said John
llussell, and not parted with in his life time, is hereby re-
leased and granted to hrs brother William Russell, a natu-
ralized citizen of the United States, and the trustees by
whom the said property is now held, are hereby directed
and required to convey in fee simple, and deliver the said
property to the said William Russell, and upon the refusal of
the said trustees, or the survivor or survivors of them, so

to convey and deliver the same, the Chancellor upon the
application of said William Russell, or any person claiming
under him, is hereby authorised and required to decree such
conveyance and enforce the same by the usual process of
his court
