LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP 262.

Washington county, was eligible to that office on account
of his then having a Seat in the Legislature of this State,
and whereas, he gave bond for the due performance of his
duty as sheriff, but omitting to renew the same on the
fourteenth day of February, in the year eighteen hundred
and thirty three, as required by law, continued to act as
Sheriff until the month of December following, selling and
conveying real estate in his official capacity, and discharge-
ing the duties and functions of Sheriff generally, Therefort

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That all deeds of bargain and sale, or conveyances,
executed and acknowledged by William H Fitzhugh, as
Sheriff of Washington county, for any lands and tentments
or real estate, or for any interests or estate, in, of relating
to, or growing out of any lands, tenements or real estate,
sold by him under, or by virtue or color of any fieri facias,
or venditioin exponas,of under any judgment of a justice or
the peace, shall be good and effectual, to all intents and
purposes, as if the said William H Fitzhugh had been cor
tainly eligible at the time he accepted the office of sheriff
of Washington county, or had entered into bond regularly,
as is required by law

Sec. 2 And be it enacted, That all and every act or acts
done and performed by the said William H Fitzhugh, as
sheriff, or by any other person as his deputy at any time
from his having first entered upon the duties of his office, on
the fourteenth day of February, eighteen hundred and thity
two, and the last day of December, in the year eighteen
hundred and thirty three, shall be, and the same are hereby
ratified, confirmed, aud made valid and legal, to all intents
and purposes, in so far as they would have been valid and
legal, were he eligible at the time of his entering upon the
dunes of the office, or had given a bond as required by law
