Sec 2 And be enacted, That all appeals hereafter to.
be taken, from judgments of County Courts, on petitions
for freedom, shall be heard and determined at the first term
of the Court of Appeals after the said appeals shall have
been entered.

A further supplement to an act, entitled, an act to authorise
and empower the Levy Court of Charles County, to assess
and levy a sum of money on the assessable property thereof
for the purpose of building a Jail in said County, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and eleven, chapter

fifty five

Passed Mar. 20, 1835

SECTION 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners named in the act, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and eleven, chapter
fifty five, or the survivor or survivors of them, be, and they
are hereby required, to account with, and pay over to the
Levy Court of Charles County, any money which may haVe
been levied and collected under the several acts, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and eleven, chapter
fifty five, and December session, eighteen hundred and fif-
teen, chapter one hundred and twenty six, and December
session, eighteen hundred and eighteen, chapter five, which
has not been expended as therein provided tor, and all mo-
ney levied for the building of a Jail or Couit House, in
Charles County, not expended in the construction of the

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That if the said commissioners
or commissioners shall fail or refuse to comply with the re-
nitions of the first section of this act, on or before the
day of August, eighteen hundred and thirty five, that
then and in that case, the State's Attorney for said county
shall institute a suit for the same, which said sum of money,
when collected, shall be paid to the Levy Court of said
bounty, to be applied to the payment of the county charges.
