four in the afternoon, and the judges of said election, or
the persons who may hold the same, shall conduct the said
election in the same manner in which the judges of an elec-
tron district, are now by law directed to hold an election
for Delegates to the Assembly, and shall make a return of
the electron, under their hands and seals, to the said Coun
crlaien, who shall have the said elpction returns recorded
in their proceedings, and the said Councilmen shall be the
sole judges of the election of the Councilmen, and the elec-
tion of the Mayor

CHAP 238.

Sec. 4 And be it enacted, That the seven persons having
the greatest number of legal votes upon the final casting up
of the polls, and having, in the town of Cumberland, real
and personal property, to the value of five hundred dollars,
and subject to taxation as valued in the county assessment,
and having resided in said town the time required by law,
shall be considered duly elected

Sec. 5 And be it enacted, That any person legally elect
ed a Councilman, shall be eligible to the office of Mayor

Sec 6 And be it enacted, That the act to which this is
a supplement, so far as the same is not inconsistent with
this act, be, and the same is hereby declared to be tn full
force

Sec 7 And be it enacted, That the act to which this is
a supplement, and the act, entitled, an art to provide for
the appointment of commissioners for the regulation and
improvement of the town of Cumberland, in Allegany
county, and to rncorpo irate the same which passed at De
cember session, eighteen hundred and fifteen, chapter one
hundred and thirty six, be, and the same are hereby revived
and declared to be in full force except so far as the said
acts are amended and changed by this act
