authorities of any and each county or city which may have
failed to forward such certificates, and in which such tax
shall not have been duly levied, an amount equal to the
amount of said tax which may at the time be in arrears and
not levied by each of said counties and city respectively, so
in default and neglecting to comply with the provisions of

apply to the ordinary purposes of the Treasury, to be reim-
bursed, however, to the Free Schools Fund of each county

ty in this State, and to the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, for their information and guidance.

CHAPTER 198.

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to regulate the inspec-
tion of Tobacco.

Passed Mar. 14, 1836

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the clerk of each In-
spector of Tobacco, in the city of Baltimore, shall receive
an additional salary of two hundred and fifty dollars per
annum.
