|
An additional supplement to an act entitled an act relating
to the Public Roads in Somerset County.
WHEREAS, great inconvenience and public injury have
arisen from the mode at present provided by law for the col-
lection of fines for neglect to work on the public roads,
Therefore,

Recovery of fines
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act. all overseers of roads
shall, as soon as fines are incurred for neglect to work on
the public roads, call upon each and every person liable to
a fine or fines, and demand the payment of the sum forfeit-
ed, and on refusal or neglect to pay the same, the overseer
shall proceed to recover the same before a single justice of
the peace, by due course of law, as is now provided in the
act to which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 156.
|

Passed Mar. 7, 1835
|
A supplement to the act to authorise and require the Levy
Courts of Somerset and Dorchester Counties, respectively,
to levy annually a sum of money, to be paid to the Presi-
dent and Directors of the Nanticoke Bridge Company, for
the privilege to the residents of said Counties of passing
the bridge over the Nanticoke river, at Vienna, without
paying toll, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and thirty four.

Preamble
|
WHEREAS, the fourth section of the original act, to
which this is a supplement, requires that the President and
Directors of the Nanticoke Bridge Company, shall file their
assent to this act with the Levy Courts of Somerset and
Dorchester counties, before it shall have any force or effect;
AND WHEREAS, the Levy Courts oi the said counties do
not meet on the same day, and it being the intention of the
original act, that said law should take effect in both coun-
ties on the same day, Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the assent of the said President and Directors of the Nanticoke
Bridge Company, shall be filed with the clerks of the Levy
|
