Henry Keller, George Kershner, Samuel Spickler, and John
Masters, and such other persons as now are or may here-
after become members of the Clear Spring Fire Company,
shall be, and they are hereby declined to be, one commu-
nity, corporation and body politic forever hereafter, by the
nane and style of The Clear Spring Fire Company, the
object of winch Company is hereby declared to be the pro

tection of the property of the citizens of Clear Spring,
from destruction by fire, for which purpose they are hereby
made able and capable in law, to have, purchase, receive,
possess, enjoy and retain, to them and their successors,
lands, tenements rents, annuities, or other hereditaments,
and the same to grant, demise, alien, or dispose of, in such
a manner as they may think most conducive to the interest
of the Company Provided, nevertheless, that the said cor-
poration of body politic, shall not at any time hold or pos-
sess property, real, personal, or mixed, exceeding the sum
of ten thousand dollars in value

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That the said Company, and
their successors, by the aforesaid name, shall forever here-
after, be able and capable in law to sue and be sued, plead
and be impleaded answer and be answered, in every and all
courts of justice whatever, and also to make, have, and use

a common seal, and the same to break, alter, and renew at
pleasure, and also to assemble at such times as they may ap-
point and ordain, and establish such by laws, ordinances,
and regulations, as to them shall seem conducive to the in-
terest of said Company, and necessary to the good govern-
ment thereof, the same not being contrary to the laws of
this State of of the United States and generally to do and
execute all such acts, matters and things, as to them shall
and may appear necessary and proper for the purposes
aforesaid
