and a diversity of practice relative thereto is understood to
exist among justices of the peace, for remedy, wherefore

CHAP. 127.

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, 1 hat from and after the passage of this act, the
stay of execution, as allowed by law, under supersedeas, in
cases of judgments rendered by justices of the peace, shall
be reckoned and computed from the date of the rendition of
the judgment, any law, usage, or custom, to the contrary
notwithstanding

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That in all cases wherein
judgment shall be rendered in the County Courts of this
Mate, at the second term after the defendant or defendants
shall have been arrested on the capias ad respondendum,
under the act entitled, an act to prevent unnecessary accu-
mulation of costs on all actions or suits at law, in the Coun
ty Courts of this State, and its supplements, and the same
shall be superseded, that the stay of execution as allowed
by law under such supersedeas, shall be reckoned and com
puted from the first Thursday of the term next ensuing the
said second terra, when such judgment shall be rendered,
and not from the date or filing of such supersedeas

An act relating to two Public Roads, number six and number
forty eight, m Queen Anne's County

Passed Feb 23, 1835

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma
ryland That the Levy Court of Queen Anne's county are
hereby authorised and required to pay annually to the com-
missioners for the time being, of the town of Centreville,
in said county, or their order a sum not less than one hun-
dred and twenty dollars to be used and expended by said
commissioners in keeping in order, loads number six and
number forty eight, in said county, the same lying mostly in
the limits of said town

Levy directed

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That the supervision and man-
agement of said roads, number six and number forty eight,
shall, after the first Monday in April next, belong to the
commissioners of the town of Centreville, who shall be ha
ble to presentment, fine and punishment, for suffering said
roads or either of them, to be out of order, that any super
