CHAP. 124.

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That the commissioners here-
by appointed, or a majority of them, shall value and ascer-
tain the damages that may be sustained by any person or
persons though whose lands the aforesaid road may be
made to pass, taking info consideration the advantages and
disadvantages, if any and the damages when so ascertained
and certified to the commissioners of said counties, shall be

That it shall and may be lawful for any citizen of that part of
the District of Columbia, which was ceded by the State of
Maryland, to the United States, owning land in any part of
