An act for the relief of Joseph Johnson.
|
|
|
Preamble
|
WHEREAS, Joseph Johnson, a colored man, now residing
in Frederick county, purchased of Abdiel Unkefer, trustee
for the sale of the effects of Samuel Creighton, a small farm,
and received for the same a deed winch has been properly
recorded, and the said Johnson being desirous to sell said
farm, but is doubtful whether he can give a legal title for
the same, Therefore

Authorised to sell
and convey
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for Joseph Johnson, a colored
man, to hold or transmit, devise or sell and convey the farm
which he bought of Abdiel Unkefer, trustee for the sale of
the effects of Samuel Creighton, and to make and deliver a
deed from the same to the put chaser thereof, which deed
when recorded, shall secure to the person so purchasing,
all the right, title, and interest, purported to be conveyed
by said deed of said Unkefer, to and in the said farm

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to Incorporate certain
trustees to build an Academy or School House, in or near
the town of Manchester, in Baltimore County, to be known
by the name and style of the Manchester United Academy
or school
|

|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act the Manchester Uni-
ted Academy or School, in Baltimore county, shall be
known by the name and style of the Manchester Academy,
and that the said Academy and the trustees thereof, and
their successors forever, shall have, hold, and enjoy all the
rights, privileges and immunities that they have, hold and
enjoy, under the name and style of the Manchester United
Academy or School, under the provisions of the act to
which this is a supplement, or the provisions of any other
act of the Assembly.
