CHAP. 101

every respect to be finished in a workmanlike manner, and
for a sum not exceeding one thousand dollars.

Levy directed

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
Baltimore county, be, and they are hereby authorised and
required to levy upon the assessable property of said county,
Within two years from the passage of this act, the amount
specified in the first section of this act, for the building of
said Bridge, to be collected as other county levies are col-
lected, and to be paid over to the Bridge Commissioners
above named.

Account-majority

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Bridge Commis-
sioners shall keep an accurate account of their expenditures
in erecting the said Bridge, and in case there shall be any
moneys left after the said Bridge is completed, it shall be
paid over to the county commissioners, to be by them ap-
plied 16 the benefit of the county; a majority of the said
Bridge Commissioners shall be competent to transact any bu-
siness relative thereto.

Accountability

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Bridge Commis-
sioners shall be held accountable to the County Commis-
sioners Aforesaid, for the respective sums of money so put
in their hands, for the faithful expenditure thereof, in the
erection of said Bridge.

Vacancy, &c

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That if either of the commis-
sioners named in this act, shall resign, die, or remove out of
the county, it shall be the duty of the commissioners of
Baltimore county to fill such vacancies; the commissioners
named to superintend the building of said Bridge shall re-
ceive no remuneration for their services, unless the Balti-
more County Commissioners shall deem it proper to allow
them a compensation.

Notice

Sec. 6. And be if enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the commissioners aforesaid to give notice in at least two of
the daily newspapers published in the city of Baltimore, for
two weeks, that they Will receive proposals for the build-
ing of said Bridge.
