CHAP. 4

refuse to call such meeting, the said stockholders, being pro-
prietors of not less than the aforesaid number of shares,
shall have power to call a general meeting of the stockhold-
ers, giving at least one month's notice in two or more news-
papers published in the city of Baltimore, and specifying in
such notice the object or objects of such meeting; and the
resolutions of stockholders, owners of a majority of all the
shares of the company's capital stock, in a general meeting
assembled, shall at all times be binding on the company, and
their president and directors, if not inconsistent with law,
and the provisions of this act.

Act to be in force

15 years

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue
and be in force for the term of fifteen years, and until the
end of the next session of the general assembly which shall
happen thereafter.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed in anywise to affect the right of
the legislature to levy on the real and personal property of

CHAP. V.

An Act to repeal part of an Act passed at December ses-
sion eighteen hundred and twenty-five, and for other
purposes.

Repeal

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the second section of an act, passed at De-
one hundred and sixty-five, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

Pensions to be

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the pensions of revo-
lutionary officers and soldiers, and of their widows, shall be
paid quarter yearly, on the first days of January, April, Ju-
ly and October.

Treasurer autho

rised to pay

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of the western
shore be and he is hereby authorised and directed, to pay to
any person on the revolutionary pension list, who may ap-
ply for the same in person, or by order, the quarter's pen-
sion which became due on the first day of January eighteen
hundred and twenty-nine.
