CHAPTER 205.
An act for the shutting up of a part of Lovegrove Alley, in the
city of Baltimore.

Passed Feb. 20, 1830.

Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the proprietors of the lots fronting on Lovegrove
Alley, in the city of Baltimore, hereinafter mentioned, be, and
they are hereby authorised and empowered, to shut up all that
part of Lovegrove Alley, extending from Monument-street,
north, to an alley to be opened by the said proprietors, through
their property, from Washington Place, east to Lovegrove alley;
Provided, the aforesaid proprietors shall open the said
alley, through their property, from Washington Place to
Lovegrove Alley, as aforesaid.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That when an alley shall be opened,
as above provided, from Washington Place to Lovegrove
Alley, the same shall be and remain a public highway forever:
and the right and title to that part of Lovegrove Alley which
shall be shut up, in pursuance of the provisions of this act,
shall be, and the same is hereby declared to be vested in fee
simple, in those persons who now own the ground on both
sides of the same, as tenants in common.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted,
That nothing in this act contained,
shall have any effect, operation, or validity, until the same
shall be approved by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.

CHAPTER 206.
An act to open and extend Eutaw Street, in the city of
Baltimore.
|
Passed Feb. 20, 1830.
|
WHEREAS, It has been represented to
this General Assembly,
that Commissioners were appointed according to law, to
ascertain the damages which would be sustained by the extension
of Eutaw-street northwardly, as far as its intersection
with the northwest side of Madison-street, according to its location,
in pursuance of the general act of 1817; which commissioners
proceeded to the execution of their duty, by completing
the ascertainment of damages as aforesaid, amounting,
with the expences thereof, to the sum of eleven hundred and
three dollars; a regular return and record of which they have
made to the register of the city of Baltimore: AND WHEREAS,
no power now exists in the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore,
to levy and assess the damages, so as aforesaid ascertained,
by the extension of the street aforesaid, on the holders
and proprietors of the property benefited thereby;
