CHAP. 88.
Passled Feb 11,1829

An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Caroline County
to levy on the assessable property of said County, a
sum of money sufficient for defraying the expenses of
enlarging the Clerk's Office in said County.

Preamble

WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assem-
bly, that the clerk's office in Caroline county is entirely too
small and contracted for holding the books, papers, and so
forth, and the accommodation of the public; therefore,

Levy authorised

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the levy court of Caroline county are hereby
authoiised, if they in their judgment may think it advisable,
to levy on the assessable property of said county, such sum
of money as may be necessary to defray the expenses of en-
larging the clerk's office of said county, agreeably to the
direction of said levy court, or a majority of them, to be
paid to the person or persons who shall legally be entitled
thereto.

CHAP. XXXIX.

An Act for the relief of Sally A. Jones, of Prince-
George's County.

Money authorised

to be paid her

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the administrator of Fielder Jones, late of
Prince-George's county, deceased, be and he is hereby au-
thorised and required, to pay to Sally A. Jones, the reputed
sister of the said Fielder Jones, deceased, any and all pro-
perty or money which may remain in his hands as adminis-
trator as aforesaid, after paying the funeral and other ex-
penses, and just debts of the said Fielder Jones, deceased;
Provided, that the orphans court of the county aforesaid
shall decide that no other person is entitled to inherit the
same under the existing laws of this state.

CHAP. XL.

An Act to alter and change the Name of Charles Stan-
ley, of Kent County, and the Names of his Children.

Preamble

WHEREAS Charles Stanley, of Chester town, Kent coun-
ty, has memorialised this legislature to alter and change his
name to that of Carl Ludvig Strandberg, and the surname
of his children from Stanley to Strandberg, setting forth in
said memorial that he was born in Stockholm, in the king-
dom of Sweden; therefore,

Names changed

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly oj Ma-
ryland, That the name of the said Charles Stanley shall be
changed and altered to the name of Carl Ludvig Strandberg,
