Provided Feb. 27, 1830.
                                        CHAPTER 163.

A supplement to the act entitled, an act incorporating a company
    for the improvement of the public road from the city of
    Frederick to Harper's Ferry passed at December session, eighteen
    hundred and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred and
    forty-two.

Act revived.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That an act passed at December session eighteen hundred
and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred and forty two,
entitled, an act incorporating a company for the improvement
of the public road from the city of Frederick, to Harper's
Ferry, be and the same is hereby revived and continued in
force, during the term and on the conditions hereafter specified,
and all the rights, powers and privileges given, granted
or conferred by the same, be, and they are hereby renewed
and revived, in their full force and original extent, as if the
same were re-enacted word for word at the present session
of Assembly, except such parts thereof as may be altered,
repealed or otherwise provided for by this supplement to
said act.
Open books—choose
managers.
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That subscription books shall be
opened on or before the first Monday of June next, for a capital
stock for said company, under the direction of the commissioners
named in the original law to which this is a supplement,
or any three or more of them, at the several places
at which they were respectively authorised to open books of
subscription by said original law; and that as soon as one-fourth
of the capital of said company shall have been
subscribed for, the said commissioners for the city of Frederick,
or any three or more of them, shall, by giving twenty
days public notice, appoint a place for said subscribers to
meet and organise said company, and choose by plurality of
votes, by ballot, a President and eight Managers, (five of whom
shall form a quorum) a Treasurer and such other officers as
they shall deem necessary to conduct the affairs of said company,
until the first Monday of January thereafter, or until a
new election as is provided in the said original law.
Toll provided for.
    Sec. 3.  And be it enacted, That said President and Managers
be, and they are hereby authorised to commence said
road at the place directed in the said original law, or in their
discretion at New Town Trap, extending the same thence towards
Harpers' Ferry, and that as soon as said President and
Managers shall have perfected any part of said road not less
than five continuous miles, they shall give notice thereof to the
Governor of this State, who shall forthwith nominate and appoint
three skilfull persons to view and examine the same and
report to him in writing, whether said road is made in a workmanlike
manner, according to the true intent and meaning of
the original act and this its supplement, and if their report shall
