CHAPTER 127.
An act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Dorchester
county, to levy a sum of money, and rebuild a Bridge over
Great Black Water River, on the road from Church Creek
and Little Black Water Bridge, to McKnights, in said
county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Levy Court of Dorchester county be, and they
property in said county, a sum of money sufficient for the rebuilding
a bridge over the river Great Black Water, as hereinafter
mentioned.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That the said Levy Court be,
and they are hereby authorised and required to issue proposals
for rebuilding the bridge over Great Black Water River,
where the road leading from Church Creek and Little Black
Water Bridge, crosses the same, and contract with one or more
persons for rebuilding said bridge, in a good and substantial
manner, on the best possible terms, taking bond of the said
contractor or contractors, with sufficient security, for the due
and faithful performance of the contract.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted,
That whenever the said Black
Water Bridge is completed, the same shall be and remain a
free bridge forever thereafter.

CHAPTER 128.
An act to prevent Swine and Geese from being suffered to go at
large, in the town of Benedict, in Charles county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of June next, it shall
not be lawful for any person to suffer their swine or geese to
go at large in the town of Benedict, in Charles county; and if
any citizen of said town shall find any hog or goose going at
large in said town, it shall and may be lawful for such citizen to
kill, or cause to be killed, any such hog or goose; or such citizen
may take up and impound any such hog or goose; and
unless the owner or owners shall, upon notice given in writing,
redeem such hog or goose within three days after such notice,
by paying to the person so taking and impounding the same,
the sum of one dollar for every hog, and thirty seven and a
half cents for every goose, such hog or goose shall be exposed
to public sale, by the person so taking up such hog or goose,
at the most public place in said town; and the proceeds of such
