CHAPTER 91.
An act to make transcripts from the books of the Inspectors of
Tobacco, legal evidence in the
courts of this State.
|
Passed Feb. 16, 1830.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, copies or
transcripts of manifests or other entries, from the books of inspectors
or inspector of tobacco, shall be good and admisible
evidence in all suits now depending or hereafter to be instituted
in the courts of this state; Provided, such transcripts be
certified under the hand and seal of the inspector and verified
by his or their affidavit, to be true and accurate copies from
the original in his or their possession, and contain the entire
entries or subject matters in referrence to which such transcripts
are required.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That it shall be the duty of the
inspector or inspectors, to grant such transcripts, verified as
aforesaid, to any person applying therefor, and for such transcripts
the inspector or inspectors, shall be entitled to claim
and receive at the same rate per side, as is allowed to clerks
of the county courts, for copies of deeds or other papers granted
by law to be recorded.

CHAPTER 92.
A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to provide for electing
Commissioners for Cecil County, and prescribing their powers
and duties.

Passed Feb. 17, 1830.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That at every future election for Commissioners, in virtue
of the act to which this is a supplement, all the voters of
the county shall be entitled to vote for five persons by name,
who shall be residents respectively of the election districts,
as is provided in the act to which this is a supplement.
|
All voters may
vote for five commissioners.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That from and after the first
day of April next, each of the said Commissioners whose
domicile or place of residence, may be ten miles or more from
the county town, or place of meeting of the said Commissioners,
shall be entitled to receive three dollars per day, and no
