Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the clerk of Queen-Anne's county court be
and he hereby is authorised and directed, upon the applica-
tion of the party or parties interested, to record the said
proceedings among the records of said county, as required
By the act of December session seventeen hundred and
eighty-six, chapter thirty-three.

CHAP. CXIX.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to provide for
the making the several Turnpike Road, and for the
extension of the Charters of the several Banks therein
mentioned, passed at December session eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-seven, chapter forty-two.

Passed Mar 7, 1829

WHEREAS it is represented to the general assembly, that
treat inconvenience is likely to result to the banks, and in-
ividual stockholders, who have subscribed for stock under
the act to which this is a supplement, as also to the presi.
dent, managers and company, of the Rockville and Wash-
ington Turnpike Road, in the fixing of the toll on the Mo-
nocacy Bridge, and the keeping of their accounts, and mak-
ing aiid apportioning the dividends on the stock under said
act of assembly, according to the provisions of the same;
therefore,

Preamble

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the said banks, and the individual stockhold-
ers, who have subscribed for stock under the act to which
this is a supplement, be and they are hereby authorised, on,
the fourth Monday of May next, and on the fourth Mon-
day of May in each succeeding year, to elect, by ballot,
a president and four managers to manage the concerns of
said road from Frederick-town to the Monocacy, together
with the bridge to be erected over said river; and the said
president and managers, when elected, shall have power to
pass all by-laws necessary for the regulations of their pro-
ceedings, to make all contracts necessary for the completi-
on and keeping in repair of said part of said road, and the
said bridge, to erect toll-houses and gates, to employ gate
keepers, and to exercise all the rights, privileges and con-
trol, over said bridge and said part of said road, that the
said turnpike road company, and said banks, are authorised
by law to exercise over the same; and for the more effectu-
ally securing to said bank, and said individual stockholders,
the full benefit of said rights and privileges, the said presi-
dent and four directors shall have full power and authority
to use the corporate name of The President, Managers and
Company, of the Washington and Rockville Turnpike Road,
in the making of all contracts in relation to said road and
