CHAP. CXVI.

An Act to confirm the Marriage of Basil Grimes, and
Mary Grimes, of Frederick County.

Preamble

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, that
the said Mary Grimes was married in the year seventeen
hundred and eighty-nine or seventeen hundred and ninety,
to Peter Deal, then living in said county, who in the follow-
ing summer abandoned her, and has not since been heard of
by her; and that under the impression that the said Deal
was dead, in the year seventeen hundred and ninety-eight,
she intermarried with a certain Basil Grimes, of Frederick
county, by whom she has nine children; therefore,

Marriage confirm-

ed

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the marriage heretofore solemnized between
Basil Grimes and Mary Deal, of Frederick county, be and
the same is hereby made valid, to all intents and purposes,
and that the children of said Basil and Mary shall be held
and considered in the courts of this state, as the legitimate
issue of said marriage.

CHAP. CXVII.

Passed Mar 7, 1829

An Act for the Relief of George King, of the State of Ohio.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the judges of Washington county court, or
either of them, or any justice of the orphans court of Wash-
ington county, be, and he or they are hereby authorised and
required, to grant to George King, of the state of Ohio, the
benefit of the several acts of assembly, passed for the relief

of insolvent debtors; Provided, that the said King shall
comply with the provisions of the said insolvent laws in all
other respects except that of proving residence; And pro-
victed he shall satisfy the said court, judge, or justice of the
orphans court, that he did not come into this state with the

A Supplement to an act, entitled. An act to confirm the Pro-
ceedings of certain Commissioners in Queen Anne's Coun-
ty.

Preamble

WHEREAS by an act passed at December session eighteen
hundred and twenty-five, chapter one hundred and ninety-
two, the proceedings of certain commissioners therein men-
tioned were authorised to be confirmed, but no authority
was conferred by the said act for recording the said proceed-
