teen hundred and seventeen, chapter one hundred and forty
eight, or by any supplements thereto, before, the expiration
of said six months.

CHAP. 89.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That after the expiration of
said six months, computing the beginning of the same from
the first appearance of the said owner or owners advertise-
ment in the two newspapers as aforesaid, and upon the said
owner or owners filing with the register of the city, certifi-
cates of the publication of the notice or advertisement as
herein before required to be made, the said owner or own-
ers, who gave such notice, and whose signatures are to the
same, and none others, shall be entitled to the benefit of
this act.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act con-
tained shall have any effect, operation or validity, until the
same shall have been approved by the mayor and city coun-
cil of Baltimore.

CHAP. C.

An Act to Incorporate certain Trustees to build an Aca-
demy or School- House in or near the Town of Man-
chester, in Baltimore County, to be known by the
name and style of The Manchester United Academy
or School.

Passed Mar 3, 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the Reverend Jacob Geiger, and the Reve-
rend Jacob Albert, Doctor Jacob Shower, Solomon Myer-
ly, George Matter, John Weaver, George Everhard the
third, Peter Sable, Martin Kroh, George Shower, and
Frederick Rittere, be and they are hereby appointed trus-
tees of The Manchester United Academy or School, and
the said trustees, and their successors, to be elected in the
manner hereafter mentioned, shall be one community and
body politic, with perpetual succession, in fact and in law,
to all intents and purposes, connected with the institution
by the name and style of The Trustees of the Manchester
United Academy or School, in Baltimore County, by which
name and title the said trustees, and their successors, shall
be competent and capable at law or in equity to take and
to hold, to themselves and their successors, for the use of
the said academy, goods, chattels, monies, stock or effects,
by gift, grant, bargain, sale, conveyance, devise or bequest,

of any person or persons whatever; Provided, that the same
do not exceed in the whole clear yearly value of two thou-
sand dollars, and the same to convey, lease, loan or other-
wise to dispose of, for the use of the said academy or school,
in such manner as to them, or a quorum of them, shall
seem most beneficial to the institution.
