SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 490.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
25M of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
title, "Public Education," sub-title, "County Board of
Education," relating to the school census.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 25M of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title, "Public Education," sub-title, "County Board of
Education," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
25M. The County Board of Education shall, subject to the
direction of the State Superintendent, of Schools and to the
rules and regulations of the State Board of Education, cause
to be taken, under the direction of the County Superinten-
dent, a biennial school census of the children of the county
between the ages of six and eighteen years inclusive, to be
taken first in the year 1922, and every two years thereafter;
and the County Superintendent shall cause, upon the direc-
tion at any time of the State Superintendent of Schools, the
whole or any part of the school census of his county to he
retaken.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 491.
AN ACT to enable the Mayor and Council of Snow Hill to
acquire by purchase and operate and maintain the exist-
ing electric light plant in Snow Hill and to issue bonds
for the purpose of paying therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and Council of Snow Hill, a body
corporate, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered upon
the conditions hereinafter set out to acquire by purchase
and operate and maintain the existing electric light plant
