lars additional pay.) The above mentioned salazy is to com-
mence and continue on and after the first day of January, in
the year 1920.
SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland which
may in anywise conflict with the provisions of this Act are
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 44.
AN ACT to revise the corporation laws of the State of Mary-
land by adding a new section to Article 81, entitled "Reve-
nue and Taxes," sub-title "Exemptions," to be known as
Section 4a, to follow Section 4 of said Article.

CHAPTER 45.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council of
Easton to purchase a fire, engine and such other fire
equipment and appliances as they may deem necessary,
and to borrow on the faith and credit of the town of
Easton twelve thousand ($12,000.00) dollars, and to issue
bonds thereof and to provide for the payment of the
same with interest thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Easton be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to purchase a fire engine
and such other fire equipment and appliances as they may
deem necessary for the use of said town.
SEC. 2. That for the purpose of paying for said fire engine,
appliances and equipment, the Mayor and Council of Easton
are authorized and directed to borrow on the faith and credit
of the town of Easton the sum of twelve thousand ($12,-
000.00) dollars, and to issue coupon bonds therefor in sums of
one thousand ($1,000.00) dollars, to be signed by the Mayor
of Easton, countersigned by the Town Clerk thereof, and at-
tested by the corporate seal of said town; said bonds shall be
designated as "Easton Fire Department Bonds," and shall
