CHAPTER 485.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the Police Commissioners
of Baltimore City to pay to Aquilla Jackson Pumphrey,
resigned Chief of Detectives of the Baltimore City Police
Department, a pension of twenty-five dollars per week.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Police Commissioners of Baltimore City be and
they are hereby authorized and directed to pay to Aquilla
Jackson Pumphrey, for thirty-four years and six months a
member of, and for ten years Chief of Detectives, of the Balti-
more City Police Department, now resigned, out of the funds
in their possession, or subject to their control, a weekly pen-
sion of twenty-five dollars, payable to the said Aquilla Jack-
son Pumphrey on the last day of each week, during his life-
time.
SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the first day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 486.
AN ACT to repeal with amendments Section 44D of Article.
14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Howard County," sub-title "County Commissioners and
County Collectors," as amended by Chapter 518 of the
Acts of 1914 changing the number of reports which the
Clerk to the County Commissioners shall make and au-
thorizing an increase in salary of said Clerk.
SECTION 1. Be it en-acted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 44D of Article 14 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Howard County," sub-title
"County Commissioners and County Collectors," as amended
by Chapter 518 of the Acts of 1914, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
44D. That it shall also be the duty of said Clerk to make
a semi-annual statement to the said County Commissioners
