750 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 415

Local Laws of Maryland, title, "Harford County," sub-title,
"Taxes and County Treasurer," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, said amended Sec-
tion to read as follows:

SEC. 473. The treasurer shall appoint such clerks as may
be necessary for the proper discharge of the duties of his
office, who shall be deputy treasurers, shall qualify under
the Constitution of the State, and shall give such bond to
the treasurer as he may require, but the aggregate annual
salary of said clerks shall in no case exceed the sum of six-
teen hundred dollars ($1,600).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the 1st day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 445.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Queen
Anne's County to provide for the building of public
school houses at Queenstown and Crumpton, in said
County, and to borrow upon the faith and credit of
said County a sum not exceeding Twenty Thousand Dol-
lars ($20,000), and to issue and sell coupon bonds there-
for to pay for same, and to provide for the levy and
collection of taxes to meet the interest and principal of
said bonds as same shall become due, and to appoint
advisory committees for advising and building said
school houses.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of building public school houses
in Queenstown and in Crumpton, in Queen Anne's County,
and equipping same and purchasing the necessary sites for
said schools, the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
borrow on the credit of said County the sum of Twenty Thou-
sand Dollars; and to issue bonds or coupon bonds therefor
in sums of not less than One Hundred Dollars nor more than
One Thousand Dollars, to be signed by the President of said
Board of County Commissioners, to be attested by the Clerk
of said Board of County Commissioners, and to have the
corporate seal of said County Commissioners affixed thereto,
