General Laws of Maryland, entitled, "Fees of Officers,"
sub-title, "Bailiffs," be and the same is hereby repealed, in
so far as the same applies to Talbot County, and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
1. Every Bailiff attending the Circuit Court for Talbot
County shall receive in addition to the compensation now
received by them, the sum of one dollar and fifty cents per
day for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said
Court, making their compensation four dollars per day, and
upon the certificate of the Clerk of said Court, stating the
number of days that the said Bailiff or Bailiffs have attended
said Court, the County Commissioners of said County shall
levy for the use of said Bailiffs the amount that shall be due
them.
2. Be it further enacted, That that part of the General
Laws inconsistent herewith is hereby repealed, and this Act
shall take effect from the first day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 440.
AN ACT making the State's Attorney for Frederick County
a salaried office and providing for his compensation.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the State's Attorney for Frederick County, begin-
ning January first, A. D. 1920, shall receive as compensation
for the discharge of his official duties connected with the
administration of said office, as well as such duties as may
hereafter be required of him by law, the sum of Three Thou-
sand Dollars ($3,000.00) per annum, payable by the County
Commissioners for Frederick County in semi-annual instal-
ments of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500) each, on the
thirtieth day of June and the thirty-first day of December
in each and every year; and the salary provided by this act
shall include the compensation of said State's Attorney for
services rendered before the Justices of the Peace in said
county, in all criminal cases, when in the public interest
he attends hearings or trials before said Justices, and shall
include all advice regarding criminal matters which he shall
give all Justices, or any one else, but his actual expenses
incurred in all criminal cases where it is necessarv for him
