712 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 418

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Trustees of the Almshouse of Kent County,
Maryland, be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered,
for such consideration as they may deem proper, to sell, either
at public or private sale, and convey by deed, all that farm or
tract of land situate on the public road in Kent County,
Maryland, running northward from Lankford to the State
road, and adjoining the lands of L. R. Leaverton, J. Walter
Skirven, and the Camp Meeting Grounds, and now in the
tenancy of J. Bayard Sutton; containing 320 acres of land,
more or less, reserving that portion of the farm now used for
the purposes of the Almshouse, including about 10 acres of
land, more or less.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 418.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 162
of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Kent County," sub-title "Millington." as
amended by Chapter 305 of the Acts of 1916.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 162 of Article 15 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Kent County," sub-title
"Millington," as amended by Chapter 305 of the Acts of 1916,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:

162. That the Commissioners may cause an assessment and
valuation to be made, by two good men to be selected and
sworn by them, of all real and personal property of said town
(bank stock, notes and other evidences of debt excepted), to
be made between the first day of May and the first day of
June in each year, and may annually levy on the property as-
sessed such sums as may be necessary for the improvement and
maintenance of said town, not exceeding fifteen hundred dol-
lars in any one year, and within thirty days after the assess-
ment is completed, the assessment roll shall be made out and
posted in a conspicuous place in said town, and the parties
so assessed shall have the right of appeal to the said Board of
