to provide for the levy and collection of taxes to meet the
interest and principal of said bonds as and when the same
shall become due.

SECTION 1. Be it en-acted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County
are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to borrow on
the faith and credit of said county such sum or sums of money
as may be necessary, not exceeding in all the total sum of five
hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00), and to issue therefor
coupon bonds in sums of not less than one hundred dollars
($100.00), nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00),
to be signed by the President of the said Board of County
Commissioners, to be attested by the Clerk of the said Board
of County Commissioners, and to have the corporate seal of
the said County Commissioners affixed thereto, bearing interest
not exceeding five per centum (.05%) per annum, payable
semi-annually on the first day of June and December in each
and every year thereafter until the same are paid, for the
improving and building of public roads and bridges under
the provisions of Chapter 225 of the Acts of 1904, and amend-
ments heretofore or hereafter passed thereto, known as the
State Aid, or Shoemaker, Road Law, or any other law that
may be passed by the State of Maryland whereby the county
shall not be required to pay or contribute more than fifty per
centum (50%) of the cost of building and improving public
roads and bridges in Queen Anne's County; provided that
not more than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) of
said bonds may be issued in any one year, accounting from
the first day of January to the thirty-first day of December,
inclusive.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the County Commissioners
of Queen Anne's County be and they are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to provide for the building of new
roads and bridges in said county under the provisions of
Chapter 225 of the Acts of 1904 and amendments heretofore
or hereafter passed thereto, known as the State Aid, or Shoe-
maker, Road Law, or any other law that may be passed by the
State of Maryland whereby the county shall not be required
to pay or contribute more than fifty per centum (50%) of
the cost of building and improving public roads and bridges
in Queen Anne's County.
