purchase or condemn real estate and pay for the erection,
repair or improvement of Public School buildings in
Frederick County, including the erection of new build-
ings at Emmitsburg and Adamstown in said county, or
for furnishing or refurnishing or equipping or re-equip-
ping the same, and to issue bonds therefor, and to levy
on the assessable property in Frederick County, such
taxes as may be necessary for the payment of the bonds
hereby authorized to be issued and of the interest thereon
as it becomes due.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Frederick County,
in order to provide the necessary funds to purchase or con-
demn real estate and pay for the erection, repair or improve-
ment of Public School buildings in Frederick County, or for
furnishing or refurnishing or equipping or re-equipping the
same, are hereby directed to borrow money on the credit of
the county to the amount of two hundred fifty thousand dol-
lars ($250,000.00) in all, that is to say, one hundred twenty-
five thousand dollars ($125,000.00) in the year 1920 and one
hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000.00) in the
year 1921, and to issue bonds therefor, under the corporate
seal of said County Commissioners, to be signed by the Presi-
dent of the Board of said County Commissioners and counter-
signed by the Clerk therefor, in suras of one thousand dollars
($1,000.00) bearing interest from date of issue thereof, at the
rate of five per cent per annum, payable semi-annually of
which said bonds ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) shall be so
drawn as to mature on the first day of January, 1925, and
ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) on the first day of Janu-
ary in each consecutive year thereafter to and including the
first day of January, 1934; and fifteen thousand dollars
($15,000.00) on the first day of January, 1935, and a like
sum of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) on the first day
of January in each consecutive year thereafter to and includ-
ing the first day of January, 1944; and said bonds shall have
written or printed on them a distinct reference to the Act
directing the issue of the same, and said bonds when issued
shall be exempt from municipal and county taxation in Fred-
erick County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall cause to be levied and collected from the
