Act, shall be increased sixty dollars ($60.00) for scholastic
year nineteen hundred twenty-one and twenty-two (1921-
1922). Annually thereafter said salaries shall be and re-
main not less than the basis herein provided for the scholastic
year nineteen hundred twenty-one and twenty-two (1921-
1922).

SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Allegany County are hereby authorized and re-
quired at their next annual levy and annually thereafter to
levy such sum or sums, upon the request of the County Super-
intendent of Schools for Allegany County, as shall be neces-
sary to meet the increase of salaries above provided for, in
addition to the money which the said County Commissioners
of Allegany County are now required by law to levy for
teachers' salaries, and that said County Commissioners of
Allegany County shall pay the said money over to the Board
of Education of Allegany County for the purpose set forth ia
this Act.

SEC. 16. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed in so far
as they apply to Allegany County.

SEC. 17. And be it further enacted, That whereas the
schools of Allegany County will be seriously affected unless
the terms of this Act shall be made to apply for the scholastic
year of nineteen hundred twenty and twenty-one (1920-1921),
and whereas the County Commissioners of Allegany County
are required by law to make their levy in April of each year,
therefore, this Act is hereby declared to be and is an emer-
gency act and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety and shall take effect from the
date of its passage, the same having been passed by yea and
nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly.
