case may be, and they are hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to erect a bridge, in their discretion either wood, iron,
or concrete, over Mattawoman Run, on the public road lead-
ing from the store of John W. Waring to La Plata, at or near
the farm of Jens Rasmussen.

SECTION 2. Be it further enacted, That the cost of said
bridge shall be paid for out of the general road fund for said
Charles County for the levy of 3920.

SECTION 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 39.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 28, 39, 40, 41, 44,
47, 48 and 49 of Article 48, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "Inspection," sub-title "To-
bacco," as the same was enacted in Chapter 309 of the
Acts of 1916, of the General Assembly of Maryland, and
to re-enact Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 28, 39, 40, 41, 44, 47
and 48 with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 28, 39, 40, 41, 44, 47, 48
and 49 of Article 48 of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title "Inspection," sub-title "Tobacco," as the
same was enacted in Chapter 309 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1916. be and the same are hereby re-
pealed and said Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 28, 39, 40, 41, 44,
47 and 48 are re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:

9. The Governor shall appoint one inspector of tobacco,
who shall be a tobacco grower or duly qualified leaf tobacco
dealer and resident of one of the tobacco growing counties of
this State. He shall receive such salary as the Legislature
shall provide in the general appropriation or budget bill and
he shall have charge of the State Tobacco Warehouses and
other property connected therewith in the City of Baltimore,
and the Governor may remove said inspector at his pleasure.

10. The inspector so appointed shall, before entering upon
the discharge of the duties of his office, give bond to the State
