SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County be and they are hereby authorized to construct an
improved road from the intersection of the District of Colum-
bia line with the Suitland road, along the Suitland road to
Suitland, thence by the New Cut road to the road leading
from Red's Corner on a State road to the Marlboro Pike, one
mile of said road to he constructed each year, and the said
Commissioners are hereby authorized to pay the cost of con-
structing said road by issuing bonds on the credit of Prince
George's County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Commis-
sioners be and they are hereby authorized and directed to
assess one-eighth of the cost of constructing said road on prop-
erty owners within a radius of one-half mile of said road, said
assessment to be levied, imposed and collected in the same
manner as other taxes are levied, imposed and collected. The
said Commissioners shall have authority to determine the type
of road to be constructed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
set forth in Section 1 of this Act the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County are hereby authorized to borrow
on the faith and credit of said county, an amount not exceed-
ing the sum of $60,000, and issue bonds therefor either coupon
or registered in sums of $100 or any multiple thereof to be
signed by the President of said Commissioners and the Clerk
thereof, and with the seal of said Commissioners attached,
said bonds to be registered by said Clerk in a separate book
kept for that purpose; said bonds shall bear interest at a rate
not exceeding five and one-half per cent per annum, payable
semi-annually and shall bear a reference to this Act as having
authorized the same. All of said bonds to mature in a period
not exceeding thirty years and to be issued within sixty days
from the passage of this Act and dated September 1, 1920.
The bonds hereby authorized shall be sold by the County Com-
missioners for cash, at public auction at the Court House door
to the highest bidder after due advertisement in at least one
newspaper published in Prince George's County. For the
purpose of redeeming said bonds at maturity and for the
payment of interest thereon said County Commissioners are
required to levy annually upon the taxable property of
Prince George's County within the 6th of Spaldings District
