and necessary asking for sealed bids, to the highest bidder or
bidders, and said Commissioners shall have the right to reject
any or all bids. The proceeds from the sale of said bonds
shall be used for aiding in the construction of the road herein-
before described.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted I That the said road
shall be constructed a-s soon as there is available sufficient
State fluids allotted to Montgomery County for the construc-
tion of such roads to provide the State's share in the con-
struction of said road. Upon completion, the said road shall
become a part of the State Road System and shall be main-
tained by the State Roads Commission.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County be and they are hereby au-
thorized and directed to levy on the taxable property of the
Thirteenth, Eighth and Fifth Election Districts of said county
a sum of money sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and
to redeem said bonds as they mature and become payable,
and said taxes shall be collected in like manner as other taxes
are collected in said county, and when collected shall be ap-
plied to the payment of the interest on said bonds and to the
redemption of said bonds as they mature and become pay-
able.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 354.

AN ACT to increase the compensation of judges, registration
officials, and clerks of election in Frederick. Calvert and
St. Mary's Counties.

WHEREAS, The increased cost of living, has made the present
compensation allowed election officials of Frederick, Calvert
and St. Mary's Counties inadequate for the services rendered:
and,

WHEREAS, Adequate compensation should be given for the
time given to the public duties; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all judges of election and clerks of election of
Frederick. Calvert and St. Mary's Counties, when actually
