has acquired by purchase all of the real estate, water rights
and personal property of the said Port Deposit Water Com-
pany as evidenced in a deed from said Port Deposit Water
Company to the President and Commissioners of the town of
Port Deposit, dated September 14, 1918, and recorded in
Liber W. G. P. No. 1, folio 224, one of the Land Record Books
of said Cecil County; and

WHEREAS, The President and Commissioners of Port Deposit
has paid or assumed all of the indebtedness of the said Port
Deposit Water Company and has purchased all of the capital
stock of said Port Deposit Water Company; and

WHEREAS, By reason of the aforegoing the said Port Deposit
Water Company has ceased to function and the needs for
which it was incorporated are now being served by the cor-
poration of Port Deposit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of the Port Deposit Water Company
which was granted under the Public General Laws of Mary-
land, relating to corporations, under date of October 29. 1896,
and recorded in J. T. G. No. 1, folio 50, one of the corporation
records of Cecil County, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect as prescribed by the Constitution and Laws of Maryland.

CHAPTER 340.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Carroll County, State of Maryland, to receive
and safely keep in his custody the records of Patriotic
Societies of Carroll County relating to their activities
during the recent World War.

Be it en-acted ~by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll County, be and he"
is hereby authorized and directed to receive and safely keep
and preserve, as are the records of the Circuit Court for Car-
roll County, any books, proceedings, records, original papers,
or other matters or things deemed by the Carroll County Man-
aging Committee or Chairman, of the United War Work Cam-
paign, the Red Cross, the Liberty Loan Committee, or any
other patriotic organization participating in the civilian activi-
