ALBERT C. RITCHIE, GOVERNOR. 565

Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title '' Howard County,'' sub-title '' County Commissioners and
County Collectors," to be known as Section 44E, to follow
immediately after Section 44D of said Article, and to read
as follows:

44E. Before any deed for the conveyance of real estate in
Howard County shall be received for record by the Clerk of
the Circuit Court thereof, the person offering said deed for
record shall submit the same to the Clerk to the County Com-
missioners of said county, who shall thereupon make transfer
on the county assessment books of the said property to the
name of the new owner or owners thereof, and as evidence of
said transfer, shall stamp upon the said deed his certificate
thereof, and no deed shall be received for record without
certificate.

At the time of submitting the deed to the Clerk to the
County Commissioners, the person or persons offering the
same shall furnish said Clerk with a statement of the build-
ings, if any, upon the land conveyed by said deed. All Acts;
or parts of Acts, inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 335.

AN ACT authorizing and empowering the County Commis-
sioners for Montgomery County to issue bonds in an
amount not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars, and
for the collection and levying of taxes on the assessable
property of Montgomery County, in the First Election
District, Eighth Election District and the Twelfth Elec-
tion District of said county, for the payment of said
bonds and interest coupons thereon, for the purpose of
the improvement of the road leading from Olney to Lay-
tonsville and by the way of Etchison to Damascus, when-
ever the State Roads Commission shall take over said
highway and build same with government aid of the
United States.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County
