SEC. 458. The State's Attorney of Harford County shall
receive an annual salary of twenty-five hundred dollars, to be
paid him by the County Commissioners of said county, in
quarterly installments from the first Monday in January,
nineteen hundred and twenty, the same to be levied by the
County Commissioners for the use of the State's Attorney as
aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 266.
AN ACT to amend Article 23 of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, title "Corporations," sub-title "In-
surance Companies," by repealing and re-enacting with
amendments, Section 154-AL thereof, relating to the quali-
fications and licensing of agents or solicitors, representing
inter-insurers or reciprocal exchanges.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 154-AL of Article 23 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, title "Corporations," sub-title
"Insurance Companies," be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:
154-AL. In lieu of all other taxes, licenses or fees whatever,
State or local, such attorney, except such as shall have the
principal office located in this State, shall pay annually on ac-
count of the transaction of such business in this State, a license
fee of twenty-five dollars and a tax of two per cent upon the
gross premiums or deposits during the preceding calendar year,
deducting all amounts returned to subscribers or credited to
their accounts other than for losses; except that where other
States collect from reciprocal or inter-insurers having the
principal office of the. attorney located in this State and ex-
changing indemnity in such States, fees, taxes or charges in
excess of or less than those prescribed by this section, then
such attorneys having their principal offices in such States and
exchanging indemnity in this State, shall pay to the Insurance
Commissioner of Maryland the same fees, taxes and charges
as are collected or would be collected by such other States from
reciprocal or inter-insurers having the principal office of the
attorney located in Maryland and exchanging indemnity in
