each of the two Houses of the .General Assembly, that then
this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 261.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Public Works
to sell the plant for converting oyster shells into agri-
cultural lime.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized and
directed to sell, upon terms which in its discretion are deemed
most advantageous, the plant established in Southern Mary-
land for converting and reducing oyster shells into agricul-
tural lime, which said plant was authorized under the pro-
visions of Chapter 221 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1916.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds of the
sale, less expenses, be paid into the general funds of the State.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That as soon as the plant
is sold, the provisions of Chapter 221 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of 1916 shall become inoperative and void.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon a yea
and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each, of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 262.
AN ACT to require all buyers of leaf tobacco from growers,
country or transfer buyers, to report to the Maryland
State Board of Agriculture the quantity of such pur-
chases, when the same shall be resold, transferred or dis-
posed of otherwise than through or on the Baltimore
market.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in every case where leaf tobacco shall be bought
from, a grower, country or transfer buyer, in the State of
