public sewers and drains, or to alter their functions, or to
increase their burdens, as they may think best.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted. That the Commissioners
of Aberdeen may acquire, by gift, purchase, lease, or by other
methods of acquisition, or by condemnation, any land or prop-
erty, including any drain, sewer, water course or stream of
water, situated wholly or partly within or without the town of
Aberdeen, or any interest, franchise, easement, right or
privilege therein which may be required for the purpose of
constructing and establishing said sewerage system; and when
and so often, as resort shall be had to condemnation proceed-
ings, the procedure shall be that provided by Chapter 33-A
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland (Bagby)
regulating the procedure for the acquisition of property for
public use by condemnation. And the Commissioners of
Aberdeen are hereby authorized to enact all such ordinances
in furtherance of said condemnation proceedings as may be
necessary and proper.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That all individuals or
corporations lawfully having buildings, structures, works,
conduits, mains, pipes, tracks or other physical obstructions in,
over or under the public walks, avenues, streets, alleys or high-
ways of the town of Aberdeen, which shall hinder or impede
the progress of said sewerage system when in progress of con-
struction and establishment, shall, upon reasonable notice from
said Commissioners of Aberdeen, promptly so shift, adjust,
accommodate or remove the same, at their own cost and ex-
pense, as to fully meet the exigencies occasioning such notice,
and if any such individual or corporation shall refuse, neglect
or fail after such reasonable notice to discharge any duty cast
upon him or it by this section, he or it shall, in addition to but
not in substitution for any other remedy or remedies that said
Commissioners of Aberdeen may have in the premises, be sub-
ject to a fine of $50 for each and every offense, and also to an
additional fine of $10 a day for every day that said refusal,
neglect or failure shall continue, said fines to be collected as
other fines in the town of Aberdeen are collected. The duty
and cost of adjusting or removing private drains or sewers in
the town of Aberdeen which shall hinder or impede the pro-
gress "of said sewerage system when in process of construction
and establishment shall rest upon and be borne exclusively by
the said Commissioners of Aberdeen.
