LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 211

SECTION 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 211.

AN ACT to amend Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester County," sub-title
'' Cambridge,'' by adding a new section thereto to follow
immediately after Section 58A thereof, to be designated
as Section 58B.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Dorchester County," sub-title "Cambridge,"
be, and the same are hereby amended by adding a new section
thereto to follow immediately after Section 58A thereof, to be
designated as Section 58B, and to read as follows:

SEC. 58B. That the Commissioners of Cambridge shall
have the power to provide by ordinance for the establishment
and change from time to time of the grade lines of any street,
lane, alley or part thereof now or hereafter marked, located
or laid out; to provide by ordinance for grading, graveling,
shelling, macadamizing, paving and curbing or for regrading,
regraveling, reshelling, remacadamizing, repaving and recurb-
ing of any street, lane, alley or thoroughfare in said town or
part thereof now held, condemned, ceded, dedicated or opened
as a public highway, or which may hereafter be held, con-
demned, ceded, dedicated, opened, widened, straightened or
altered according to the laws and ordinances regulating the
same, and also for assessing the cost of any such work not ex-
ceeding one-half of the cost thereof upon any property bind-
ing upon such street, lane, alley or highway or part thereof,
according to the front foot rule of apportionment for such
improvement and the cost thereof, and for the collection of
any such assessment or assessments as other town taxes are
collected or in such manner as they, the Commissioners of
Cambridge, may prescribe, either before or after any such
improvement shall be made and done. To provide by ordi-
nance for grading, macadamizing, paving or curbing or for
regrading, regraveling, reshelling, remacadamizing, repaving
or recurbing of any street, lane, alley or highway or part
