shall be similarly payable each and every succeeding year
until the whole amount of said bonds shall have been fully
paid. As bonds of the par value of $10,000.00 are paid, the
Mayor and Common Council of Mount Rainier shall have
power to issue a like amount for the same purpose, and un-
der the same terms and conditions, and payable in like pro-
portion and manner. The intent of this Act being that the
Mayor and Common Council shall issue said bonds in series,
not less than for $10,000.00, nor in excess of a par value of
$50,000.00, in the first year after the date of the passage of
this Act and of its approval by the people, not exceeding
$10,000.00 each year thereafter as bonds for that amount are
paid, the total outstanding principal of said bonds not to ex-
ceed at any time $50,000.00. The funds derived from the sale
of said bonds shall be deposited by the Mayor and Common
Council of Mount Rainier in some safe banking institution in
the State of Maryland, to be determined by them and to be
subject to the check of the Town Clerk and Treasurer only
when countersigned by the Mayor and by two members of the
Common Council. Out of said funds shall be paid only the
proper expenses for the negotiation and sale of said bonds,
for the planning and construction of the sidewalks, streets and
gutters as provided for herein.

SECTION 3. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor
and Common Council of Mount Rainier, Maryland, may if
they deem it advisable, employ a competent engineer to plan
and superintend the work provided for under this Act. and
compensate him therefor out of the fund provided for under
this Act, and shall advertise for bids for such work as a whole
or of such parts thereof separately as shall appear proper in
their judgment, and award contracts for said work to the
lowest responsible bidders, having the right, however, of re-
jecting any and all bids. They shall require from the suc-
cessful bidder or bidders, surety bonds in penalties sufficient
to cover said contract awarded them.

SECTION 4. And be, it further enacted, That the Mayor
and Common Council of Mount Rainier be and they are here-
by authorized to do all Acts not specifically mentioned herein,
which may be necessary to issue and sell said bonds, provide
for the payment thereof, and to arrange for and construct the
sidewalks, streets and gutters as provided for herein.

SECTION 5. And be it further enacted. That, the bonds
