128 of Article 77, of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Public Education," sub-title "High Schools," as the same
were repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 506 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1916, be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to
read as follows:

127. It shall be the duty of the State Superintendent of
Schools, or an assistant designated by him, to make an annual
inspection of all high schools receiving State aid, and also such
other schools as make application, through their respective
county superintendents, to receive said State aid. The State
Superintendent of Schools shall, On or before the last day of
February of each year, prepare a list of high schools, desig-
nating the group to which each belongs, the amount of said
State aid to which each is entitled, and to whom the same shall
be paid. The preparation of this list shall be based on in-
formation obtained through inspection, supervision, written
reports of the principal or county superintendent, or other
reliable sources. He shall certify this list to the Comptroller
of the Treasury, on or before the last day of February of each
year, and the Comptroller of the Treasury shall issue his war-
rant upon the Treasury of the State in equal quarterly in-
stallments in each and every year at the time when the gen-
eral State school fund is now, or may hereafter be, distrib-
uted, payable to the orders of the treasurers of the respective
County Boards of Education, or the Board of Commissioners
of the Public Schools of Baltimore City, for such sum or sums
as they are entitled to receive under the provisions of this
Article, and shown by the certified list of high schools as
aforesaid. Provided, that not more than one high school
shall be granted State aid under the provisions of this Article
in the same village, town or city, unless each additional high
school has au average daily attendance in excess of two hun-
dred pupils; provided that this provision shall not affect the
right of schools on the approved list at the date of the passage
of this Act to receive State aid; provided further that in case
two high schools for white pupils are in the same city of any
county of the State, neither shall receive more than two thou-
sand five hundred dollars ($2,500). Should any error in the
amount of State aid for any high school be discovered after
the original list is certified the State Superintendent of
Schools shall correct his report by certifying the proper
